Do you believe that the Bible is "inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives" (2 Timothy 3:16)? Do you want to share the Bible with others? If so, keep reading...
First, pray and ask God if He wants you to participate in this project!
Second, go to Zazzle or a similar site, and make yourself a button that says "Ask me about John!" Get creative! Make it as big, as bright, as crazy as you want! (But make sure it's not so bizarre that you won't wear it!) Another idea is to buy some adhesive labels at an office supply store and just print up a bunch of "Ask me about John!" stickers to wear.
Third, pray that your button would be noticed by the people God is trying to reach and that they'd ask you about it!
Fourth, go to www.christianbook.com or a similar site, and order a few Bibles, New Testaments, or just the Gospel of John. Make sure it's a version of the Bible that's pretty easy to understand. I like New Living Translation (NLT), but choose what you like. There are many of these that can be purchased for only a couple dollars each. I like the NLT Abundant Life Bible New Testament. If you like, you can even write the name of your church and its website address in the front cover.
Fifth, pray that these Bibles would speak to the hearts of the people who receive them!
Sixth, throw on your button or sticker, toss a couple Bibles, New Testaments, or Gospels of John in your purse, diaper bag, backpack or whatever, and go about your business. When someone asks you about your button, say something like, "John and Jesus were close friends. Would you like a Bible, so you can read what John had to say about Jesus?" How much easier could it be?!
Seventh, pray specifically for the people to whom you give Bibles that God would reveal Himself to them through His Word!
